Dear Student,

I recently came across the word polymath. Originally, it meant someone who mastered multiple disciplines — science, philosophy, mathematics, ART & if you google it today, Elon Musk shows up on the page -whether as a modern polymath or simply thanks to Google’s search algorithm. Ironically, scroll through your phone long enough & you might start to believe you are one too 😀

One minute it’s a “physics but explained with STEM” video
next a startup founder thread,
then a biohacking podcast,
followed by a learn AI in 10 minutes” reel.

Reality check: Social media can make us feel like polymaths — it rarely makes us one.

Through this platform, I will try to share opportunities, ideas, & paths that sometimes slip through the cracks. If CampusTalk helps you even a little in your academic journey, please do share it with a friend or a parent who will gain from it. It’s free for students — and I hope to keep it that way. For all my subscribers thank you for being on my list so that you don’t miss your next opportunity.

(Mom’s Napkin Math): The calendar date for celebrating ‘Women’s Day’ may be over, but opportunities for women in STEM are very much open.

Dear Design Students,

Subject: Storytelling through bricks.

Internship Alert- LEGO

At first I caught myself thinking:
“This LEGO challenge has been around for a while… so why now?”

But then it clicked.

This challenge is open to students 18+ currently studying design, especially those who love visual storytelling, experimenting with ideas, & playful problem-solving.

And honestly, yes that’s exactly how many creative careers start.Because this isn’t really about building with bricks. It’s about how designers think. The same mindset shows up in product design, game design, architecture, UX, robotics, & creative tech. Good luck — may the best brick take the spotlight!

(Mom’s Napkin Math) Sometimes opportunities like this aren’t just competitions — they are portfolios in the making.

Dear Startups in Europe,

Subject: Your zip code shouldn’t be the reason you play small.

Opportunity Signal: EU Builders Wanted

I will admit something honestly — before looking into this program, I had never really come across the term embodied AI. The Google DeepMind Accelerator for robotics startups is opening doors for teams building the future of embodied AI.

While researching more I came across Sereact based in Stuttgart, this company is helping robots understand & interact with objects using AI. In simple terms, their technology allows robots to see things, understand instructions, & then take action in the real world (embodied AI & Vision-Language-Action models) (Source- Chatgpt)

What makes the DeepMind accelerator interesting this year is that it focuses specifically on robotics & embodied AI.

Applications close: March 25, 2026

(Mom’s Napkin Math) Knowledge=Leverage. Bonus-Platforms like this help boost the confidence — showing that big ideas can start small.

Dear Girls interested in Climate Tech,

Subject: Yes, it’s virtual.

Female led event

WomenINvestEU Sustainability & Climate Tech is now open — and if you are an undergrad student (female led only) interested in climate tech or events like this maybe this might be the smartest way to discover startups & perhaps land an internship.

Dear farmer in the AI era,

Subject: Agriculture can run on code too

Hiring your tech skills

There’s so much news about layoffs and how hard it is to get a job right now. It can feel overwhelming. But sometimes when the noise is loud, we miss the opportunities quietly growing somewhere else 🌱 Agriculture.

Farming today isn’t just about tractors & muddy boots anymore. A new generation is changing it. Gen Z farmers are flying drones over fields, using artificial intelligence to analyze crop data, building apps to monitor soil health, & creating online brands to sell directly to customers.

Why this matters for you as students:

Naturally, most students today are sprinting toward AI and tech — it’s the loudest race on the track & that it can feel overwhelming. If you are an undergraduate wondering where your tech skills might matter — take a look at agriculture. There are internships & projects in agri-tech startups, climate tech labs, food supply analytics, & precision farming.

Discover how AI is turning data into reliable yield forecasts, helping cooperatives, growers & food processors make smarter decisions, reduce risk & build more resilient production systems. The problems are big & global: feeding people, reducing waste, adapting to climate change. If you are into data, environment, automation, business, or research — this is worth your attention.

(Mom’s Napkin Math): The need for work hasn’t gone away — it’s just moving to new fields (sometimes literally). If you need a nudge in the agri direction send me a message. Happy to help.

Campus 🎯 Shots

Not every student needs to start from scratch.
Sometimes the smartest move is learning from someone just a few steps ahead.

A student-led organization that aims to create more inclusive pathways for students to engage with STEM and healthcare research early on

Dear student, Have you ever been interested in a research or healthcare program… but couldn’t join because of age or access restrictions? Maybe you skipped a grade, fell into an awkward age cutoff, or simply discovered your interest in healthcare earlier/later than most. And sometimes it’s not just age! Cost, access, & resources can also make these opportunities harder to reach.

The HEART Venture, founded by Ivana the founder & executive director, is a student-led initiative working to make STEM & healthcare research opportunities more accessible to young students — regardless of their circumstances. HEART stands for Health Empowerment & Adolescent Research Team, and her mission is simple: open doors that are often closed too early.

For a senior school students considering medicine, public health, or biomedical sciences, experiences like this can be of incredibly valuable.

Not just for college applications — but for something more important:
figuring out whether healthcare research is truly the path you want to pursue.

(Mom’s Napkin Math): As a student, connecting with someone like this team is a win-win — especially in today’s tech-driven, socially connected world. Sometimes the most meaningful opportunities start with a simple hello.

The Shout-Out 🔈️ Section

Since this newsletter is a free platform for students it feels right to shine the spotlight to other free, student-led & or other purpose-driven initiatives out there. From charities & volunteer groups to campus clubs and community initiatives—these are the people quietly doing the work, creating impact, and making things better without asking for much in return.

If you’re a student group, nonprofit, or volunteer initiative creating positive change, this space is for you too. Sometimes all it takes is visibility for a good idea to grow.

Offering every student an opportunity!! That’s all you need….

Not a coder? Same here. But this might still be worth trying.

Dear student, If you are in high school & your best friend is the coding genius in the group while you are just sitting on the sidelines thinking “maybe tech just isn’t my thing” — this might be a good place to experiment before closing that door completely.

The future is definitely tech-reliant, but that doesn’t mean you have to start as an expert. That is why this free program from #GirlsWhoCode sounds interesting.

They are offering ‘Pathways’, a 7-week virtual summer program where students can learn coding at their own pace. Explore coursework in five tracks throughout the program: Data Science + AI, Game Design, Web Development, Cybersecurity, & AI + Society.

Good to know dates

Application Deadline: 10 April

Summer 2026 Program Dates: 29 June - 14 August

(Mom’s Napkin Math): As a student, sometimes the best way to know if something is for you… is to try it once before deciding it isn’t.

Thank you for not(un)subscribing.
