😀 The world’s first phone-free challenge. PhoneFreeFebruary is a global campaign that aims to promote healthier smartphone use by challenging you to go without your phone for the month of February. This campaign is set up and run by 2 phone activist volunteers: Charlotte and Jacob. 🫡 Crazy start to 2025!! California-based Vast Space has bold plans. The company intends to launch its commercial space station, Haven-2, into low Earth orbit by 2028, providing a place for astronauts to live in space after the International Space Station (ISS) is decommissioned in 2030. "As Max Haot ,CEO of Vast, puts it, 'Maybe lunar or Martian gravity is sufficient for living comfortably over a lifetime. The only way to know for sure is to build stations with artificial gravity, which is our long-term goal.' Loving this-(Back to the future)-vision… Space enthusiasts or not…this is an interesting read……

Now for some local news-A teacher from Saudi Arabia, who started his career teaching in a modest school kitchen, has been awarded this year’s GEMS Education Global Teacher Prize. Meet Mansour Al-Mansour, a teacher at Prince Saud bin Jalawi School in Al-Ahsa, who has dedicated over 3,000 hours of volunteer work to his community. He was chosen from more than 5,000 nominations and applications across 89 countries. His inspiring journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of Saudi Arabia’s most influential educators highlights his resilience, passion, and unwavering dedication to teaching. Since 2001, he has been teaching in underserved neighborhoods, supporting students who face academic challenges, including those with disabilities, learning difficulties, and children from illiterate families. The GEMS Education Global Teacher Prize, an initiative by the Varkey Foundation in collaboration with UNESCO, recognizes his exceptional contributions to education.Kudos 👏 Sir.

Created 78 years ago, the time is set by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists’ Science and Security Board. On Jan. 28, the Redesigned Clock was unveiled and set to 89 seconds to midnight during an annual event at the United States Institute of Peace. Fact check:Clock factors include nuclear weapons, climate crisis, artificial intelligence, infectious diseases, and conflicts in countries. This moves the clock one second forward, the closest the clock has ever been to midnight. And guess what- an RIT faculty member helped redesign this infamous clock that made international headlines.
🤩 Fact check-ASML, a Dutch company, the sole producer of EUVs — the machines responsible for creating the world’s most crucial chips. Now, meet 💪 Brienna Hall, a 29-year-old Washington State University graduate with a degree in engineering and materials science. She calls herself a “fancy mechanic” and works as a customer-support engineer at ASML-Boise plant. She is part of a team of about 10,000 highly trained engineers who maintain the few hundred EUVs that manufacture microchips for products like iPhones, computers, televisions, and cars. She is one of an exclusive group of engineers skilled in operating and maintaining the complex extreme ultraviolet lithography machines. Most important job in the world indeed!!

🎨 Vibrant Pieces of Art indeed. Street artist Sergio Arce, known by his alias Registered Artist, leads a non-profit organization called "aWall Mural Projects," which has created over 150 murals in schools throughout Miami Dade County since 2018. This year, the project reached new heights during Miami Art Week, with approximately 30 international artists coming together to transform dull school walls into vibrant works of art.
